I. DETAILS & DEFINITIONS :

It is possible to use our organic wastes to produce energy, through processes like methanisation (= anaerobic digestion) or by using these wastes for fertilising short rotation coppices, which are bio energetic plantations.

You can use our services to drive studies of methanisation on various organic wastes, check the agronomic efficiency of digestates or study the feasibility of :
- short rotation coppices plantation,
- fertilisation by various organic wastes,
- evaluation of these practices on soil quality.

II. Developing tools :

Studies were conducted to estimate the potential methane production from various organic wastes, by measuring the amount of produced biogas (containing methane) for a given amount of treated wastes.

III. Presentation of competences

- Pilots’ studies of cimposting, methanisation, vermicomposting
- Feasibility study and establishment of short rotation coppice
- Biodegradability of plastics used in agriculture and ecotoxicological impact
- Bibliographic study
- Preliminary developement of a bio-assay
- Evaluation of microbial risk management by composting for animal by-products (related to application of European regulation RCE 1774-2002) in collaboration with the Ecole Vétérinaire (veterinary school) from Maison Alfort and Michel MUSTIN.

IV. SPECIFIC EQUIPEMENTS :

In order to drive these studies, RITTMO agroenvironnement uses :
- experimental areas located in fields,
- des lysimeters to perform assays under outdoor conditions without impacting the environment,
- technical halle devoted to "transformation processes" to dimension pilots of effluents’ treatment.

V. Examples OF STUDIES :

To respect the confidentiality due to our customer, their names cannot be given.
- study potential production of methane from agricultural effluents and sewage sludge,
- compare agronomic and microbial quality of digestates with those of composts produced with same raw materials..
